Rick Box

Rick has been using and building maps for many years as an outdoors enthusiast and a Project Officer for Parks Victoria. He was an Information Technology teacher in secondary schools and has a keen interest in graphic design and photography.
Since retiring from Parks Victoria he is keen to continue designing and building maps and sharing his cartographic knowledge with others.
Mapping software can be expensive. This site uses the powerful and free software QGIS, with references to ArcGIS. It explains how spatial data can be collected using free or low cost applications on mobile phones.
Building and using electronic maps is an interesting, stimulating and useful activity.
